Colgate Recycling Center In Irvine

When it comes to recycling and protecting the planet, we all have a part to play. Too often, toothbrushes, toothpaste tubes, and packaging end up in bathroom trash cans. And in most communities, oral hygiene products aren’t recycled with other recyclables like metal, plastics, and glass, either.

So what can you do if you want to recycle your oral hygiene products in Irvine? Come to Trooth & Smiles. As the only Colgate/TerraCycle Recycling Center in  Irvine , we make it easy to recycle your used toothbrushes and other oral care items and the associated packaging from all brands.

What Is A Colgate Recycling Center?

Colgate has partnered with TerraCycle to recycle used toothbrushes, toothpaste tubes, and other related recyclable waste. Many communities don’t accept these recyclables in standard recycling bins, so they tend to end up in landfills.

But that’s all changed with Colgate Recycling Centers. In this program, you can bring your oral care waste to Trooth & Smiles, and we’ll organize it, pack it up, and send it to TerraCycle to be recycled. This program is totally free for patients!!!

What Can I Bring In To Recycle At Trooth & Smiles?

Despite the name, you can bring any brand to Trooth & Smiles to be recycled with the Colgate Recycling Center program. The full list of accepted items is as follows:

  • Empty toothpaste tubes and caps
  • Toothbrushes
  • Toothpaste cartons
  • Empty floss containers (sorry we can’t accept the actual floss itself)

The only things that can’t be recycled with this program are electric toothbrushes and other battery-powered toothbrushes, as well as their replacement brush heads and other parts. Only manual, battery-free toothbrushes qualify for recycling.

How Does This Recycling Program Work?

It’s easy. Collect your used toothbrushes, toothpaste tubes, cartons, floss containers, and packaging in a container. You can use a small plastic bin that you keep in your bathroom, or any other container that you find to be convenient.

Then, when your bin is full or it’s time for your six-month checkup at Trooth & Smiles, just bring your recyclables in with you. Hand them over to one of our team members, and they’ll take care of the rest. It’s just that easy!

Once we’ve got a full box of recyclables, we’ll box them up and send them off to TerraCycle. Then, your recyclables will be categorized, organized, and reprocessed to give them a new life, and reduce the amount of oral hygiene products that go into landfills.
